Prophet Itunu Onadeko, fiancé of late Nollywood actress Temitope Osoba, has claimed that she died at an undisclosed police station in Ikorodu, Lagos State.

His account differs from online reports linking the actress’ death to her previous battle with breast cancer.

Onadeko made the claim during an interview with the Celestial Reality Check, the media investigative unit of the Celestial Church of Christ, on Saturday.

The cleric, who leads CCC Onibuore Cathedral in Bogije, Ibeju-Lekki, said an unidentified caller informed him of Osoba’s death around midnight.

“It was a random person that called me around 12 am that she died in a police station in Ikorodu,” he said.

Onadeko admitted that he did not know the station where the actress allegedly died. He said he later presented himself at a police station close to him.

According to him, Osoba had gone to visit a woman he identified as Mrs Kehinde Osoba shortly before her death.

He said the actress had also wanted to see him, but he could not join her because he had church programmes to attend.

Onadeko explained that Osoba travelled with a hairdresser she had been staying with. He added that they remained in contact before he received news of her death.

His account has introduced fresh uncertainty into the circumstances surrounding the actress’ death.

Following her passing, reports and social media posts suggested that she died from health complications connected to breast cancer. Other unverified claims alleged that she suffered mistreatment before her death.

Onadeko rejected those accounts.

He confirmed that Osoba had undergone treatment and surgery for cancer but insisted that the illness did not cause her death.

The cleric said Osoba told him about the diagnosis after they met. He claimed he prayed for her before accompanying her to Evacare Hospital on the day of her surgery.

Osoba had spoken publicly about her cancer journey and recovery.

In 2024, she announced her return to public life after treatment, describing the experience as a period of healing, growth and personal renewal.

Onadeko also denied allegations that he controlled money donated towards her treatment or diverted any part of it to his church.

He questioned claims that Osoba received N30 million, saying the donations went directly into her account.

According to him, several people supported the actress, including businessman Mike Adenuga, who reportedly gave her a cheque.

“I never had access to her money,” he said.

He also dismissed claims that the donations funded construction work at his church.

Onadeko said the church had existed for about 20 years and had been completed before Osoba joined the congregation roughly two years ago.

Addressing another allegation, the prophet denied preventing the actress from using her car.

He said Osoba drove herself to Iperu shortly before her death, although he did not know who she planned to meet there.

Onadeko added that the actress had reservations about visiting some members of her maternal family. He said he encouraged her to maintain a relationship with them because they were planning to marry.

He further denied reports that Osoba was humiliated or subjected to degrading treatment while they were together.

According to him, they supported each other financially and never lived under duress.

He said the house where Osoba stayed belonged to her uncle, contrary to claims that they rented an apartment together.

Onadeko also rejected speculation that the actress had been poisoned.

He disclosed that Osoba left the church about three weeks before her death.

After learning of her passing, he said he contacted one of her uncles, identified as Taiwo, but the relative declined to speak with him.

Osoba died on Wednesday at the age of 40.

She is expected to be buried on Thursday, August 13, 2026, in Iperu Remo, Ogun State.

However, Onadeko’s claims have not been independently verified.

The police have also not publicly confirmed that Osoba died at any station in Ikorodu or disclosed the circumstances surrounding her death.

At the time of filing this report, no official cause of death had been announced.
