Chieftains of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have commended what they termed the impressive turnout of voters for the ongoing Osun State governorship election.

They described the development as a positive sign of citizens’ commitment to the democratic process.

The party leaders, who spoke with journalists at various polling units in Ilesa, Ibokun and Ilase-Ijesa, also expressed satisfaction with the peaceful conduct of the election.

A former member of the House of Representatives, Babatunde Ayeni, commended voters for turning out in large numbers, while also praising the peaceful atmosphere at the polling units.

Ayeni spoke shortly after casting his vote at Ward 10, Unit 13, in Ilesa West Local Government Area.

He also commended the Federal Government for providing what he described as an enabling environment for eligible voters to exercise their franchise.

The former lawmaker, however, dismissed allegations of vote-buying, insisting that the APC was sufficiently popular in the state and had no reason to induce voters with money.

He expressed confidence that the party’s governorship candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, would emerge victorious at the end of the election.

Similarly, Senator Francis Fadahunsi, representing Osun East Senatorial District in the National Assembly, praised the turnout of voters at his polling unit and urged other eligible voters who were yet to vote to come out and exercise their franchise.

Fadahunsi spoke after voting at Unit 1, Ward 4, Ilase-Ijesa, in Obokun Local Government Area.

He expressed satisfaction with the turnout at the polling unit, urging voters to participate peacefully in the electoral process.

Also speaking after casting his vote, a former member of the Osun State House of Assembly, Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, described the atmosphere at his polling unit as peaceful, while commending the large turnout of voters.

The APC chieftains urged eligible voters across the state to continue participating peacefully in the election and exercise their civic responsibility.
