Kwara State All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirant, Femi Sanni (Araba), has congratulated Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke on his weekend reelection victory, describing it as a reminder of the importance of internal cohesion, fairness and inclusion in political parties.
Araba also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for assuring the enabling environment for a credible electoral process.
He praised the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the faultless conduct of the election.
Araba urged Kwara APC stakeholders to draw useful lessons from Osun, particularly the need to manage internal differences through dialogue, fairness and reconciliation ahead of the 2027 elections.
“Every political family will have differences, and the strength of a party lies in how it manages those differences. There is a time to win and a time to lose. Politics requires the wisdom to win some and lose some, because today’s winner may need yesterday’s loser tomorrow.
“The concerns being expressed by different stakeholders within APC Kwara should not necessarily be viewed as opposition to the party or its leadership. They should be given a fair hearing and assessed on their merits, with the overriding objective of strengthening the party.
“I therefore believe that the National Working Committee should look carefully into the various concerns and positions being expressed, listen to all sides and determine what is in the best interest of the party.
“Every concern raised within a political family deserves to be heard before it becomes an electoral post-mortem.
“No tendency should feel excluded, and no individual interest should be allowed to override the collective interest of APC,” he said.
Araba said the Osun experience should serve as a constructive reminder that internal disagreements, when properly managed, can strengthen a political organisation, while unresolved grievances can become more difficult to address during elections.
He congratulated Adeleke and the people of Osun State, while urging APC members in Kwara to remain united and place the long-term interest of the party above individual ambitions.
“Osun has given us a lesson. We should have the wisdom to learn from it without having to experience the same outcome. The task before us is to build a stronger, more united APC in Kwara, where every genuine concern is heard and every decision is guided by fairness, merit and the collective interest of the party,” he urged.
