Rider dies as motorcycle rams into tree in Ogun

A motorcycle rider was killed yesterday in a lone accident that occurred in front of the Federal Girls College on the Iperu-Sagamu Road in Ogun State.

The accident involved a a red bajaj motorcycle.

Spokesperson of the Traffic Compliance enforcement Agency( TRACE) Babatunde Akinbiyi confirmed this to newsmen in a statement in Abeokuta yesterday.

Akinbiyi said the cause of the accident was unknown, but it was reportedly alleged that the rider crashed into a tree in the bush before he died.

He explained that the deceased rider sustained head injuries and was found lying beside the tree he had crashed into.

Akinbiyi said that officials of the agency, alongside operatives of the Ogun State Police Command, were on the ground to carry out the rescue operation.

He said that the corpse have taken  to Idera Morgue in Sagamu, while the motorcycle hadbeen taken to Papa Oscar cage, Ewuoluwo for further investigation.

Recalled that some days ago, a lone accident occurred around Kara bridge on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, resulting to the death of a pedestrian.

Akinbiyi said that the accident occurred at about 12:O5pm involved a truck which crushed the pedestrian to death.

He said that the crash involved a mach truck with the registration number: GDD215XD reportedly suffered brake failure and crushed the pedestrian.
