2027: Tinubu Names Buni APC Campaign DDG for North

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has appointed the Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, as the Deputy Director-General (DDG) North for the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council for his 2027 re-election campaign.

The appointment places the givernor among the key political leaders.

They are expected to coordinate the APC’s campaign and mobilise people’s support across Northern Nigeria for the re-election of Tinubu and the Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima in the 2027 general elections in the country..

The appointment was contained in a statement issued by Yusuf Ali, the Focal Person for digital and strategic communication to the Yobe state government.

According to the statement, Buni’s appointment affirms the confidence reposed in his political experience, organisational capacity and understanding of grassroots mobilisation for the forthcoming general elections.

Ali said the new responsibility would enable Buni to contribute to the effective coordination of the party’s campaign activities across the 19 Northern states.

“Governor Buni’s appointment reflects confidence in his political experience, organisational capacity and deep understanding of grassroots mobilisation,” the statement said,” he said.

The Focal Person added that Buni would work alongside Senate President Godswill Akpabio and Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, who have also been assigned strategic responsibilities as Deputy Directors-General of the campaign council.

“His Excellency will serve alongside other key national political leaders entrusted with strategic responsibilities in the campaign council,” said the statement.

The appointment is expected to place Buni at the centre of the APC’s Northern mobilisation strategy as the party intensifies preparations for the 2027 presidential election. mobilisation in Katsina.
