The Democratic Leadership Alliance (DLA) has inaugurated its National Campaign Council to coordinate the party’s campaign activities ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Inaugurating the council in Abuja, the National Chairman of the party, Samuel Memeh said its membership comprised experienced political leaders and prominent grassroots mobilisers who would oversee the party’s campaign activities.

Memeh charged members of the council to remain committed to their responsibilities and maintain direct engagement with the party’s candidates and leadership at all levels.

He urged the political strategists to deploy their wealth of experience and knowledge to promote the party and present DLA to Nigerians as a viable opposition capable of providing the good governance desired by the masses.

The newly inaugurated National Campaign Council is chaired by Fortune Aghwaretoma, with Dr Tosin Odeyemi as Co-Chairman, Grace Obekpa as Secretary and Judith Aguenu as Assistant Secretary.

John Friday will head the Strategy Committee, while Methuselah Gallio will chair the Mobilisation Committee.

Aghwaretoma will also head the Security Committee, while Tosin Odeyemi will oversee the Media and Publicity Committee.

Responding, Aghwaretoma expressed appreciation to the party leadership for the confidence reposed in members of the council.

He acknowledged the enormity of the responsibilities before the council but pledged that its members would work together to strengthen the party and make DLA the preferred choice of Nigerians in the 2027 general elections.

The DLA, which was registered by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in February 2026, emerged from a rigorous registration process involving 171 political associations that submitted letters of intent.

INEC said 14 associations initially met the pre-qualification requirements, while eight proceeded to submit their documents for further assessment.
