The Rasak and Risikat Oyewusi Foundation, popularly known as RasRis Foundation, has distributed cash and food items to over 20 less privileged including, widows, widowers and vulnerable people in Kuto community and environs in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

The foundation’s distribution of cash gift and essential food items such as beans, rice, garri, was aimed at supporting the vulnerable members of the community, particularly elderly people and widows who rely on small-scale businesses to provide food for their children and support their education

At the event, Imam kuto muslim community, Sheikh Muiz Ayinde Bello who was the Spiritual Father of the day and the Guest Lecturer, Imam Abduljamih Alabi Orelope (Abuu Thabit), Wazeer of Kuto Muslim Community, both said that it was good thing for people to remember their dead with kindness to humanity.

The Founder, Com. Saheed Oyewusi, said that the foundation was officially launched yesterday with the aim of giving succour to poor people struggling to make ends meet and provide for their families due to high cost of living and food items occasion by subsidy removal.

Oyewusi said that the foundation did not only cater for the less privileged but also train orphans and out of school children on vocational skills including, tailoring, poultry, shoe making, carpentry among others for free and ensure they are giving money and working tools to start on their own after graduation.

He also said that the foundation which was set up with the support of his siblings for the remembrance of their late Father Alhaji Rasak Oyewusi and Alhaja Risikat Oyewusi had in the last one year assisted 10 children with school uniforms, books and bags to stay in schools.

Oyewusi said “The foundation was established to assist the less privileged because in Nigeria situation, government cannot do it alone. Our motive is to give hope to the hopeless because today we give cash gift and food items to over 20 people and with time we believe we will extend the today’s number.”

“The vocational training for the ophans and out of school children is totally free. we train them in poultry, shoe making, tailoring, capentry and others. You know not every one will have a white collar jobs that was why we embarked on the training for those children.”

“My advice for the is to utilize any opportunities that they see because I said it before that government cannot do everything for them, but the little that we did for them when they utilize it very well it would encourage us to do more for them.” he added.

One of the beneficiaries, Alhaja Abibatu Balogun, thanked the foundation for the support, saying that she would make use of the cash and food items judiciously.
