The Rotary Club of Omole-Golden, District 9111, with over 100 active members, is set to usher in a new chapter of leadership and humanitarian impact as Dr. Omowunmi Qubrat Bakare is installed as its 23rd President for the 2026–2027 Rotary year.

The Investiture and Fundraising Ceremony, scheduled for Saturday, August 29, 2026, will bring together corporate leaders, philanthropists, development partners and community stakeholders to celebrate leadership, service and the power of partnership.

Speaking ahead of the ceremony, the Investiture Committee Chairman and President-Elect, Fatai Lasisi described the occasion as more than a change of leadership.

Meanwhile, since the beginning of the Rotary year on July 1, 2026, Rotary Club of Omole-Golden has continued to demonstrate that its strength is not merely in numbers, but in the lives it touches.

The club has hosted the official visit of the District Governor, empowers entrepreneurs with micro-credit loan, organised a health and nutrition seminar at Ifako General Hospital to promote maternal and child health, and sponsored more than 10 RYLARIANS to the 2026 Rotary Youth Leadership Awards programme.

Its commitment to youth development earned the club further recognition as it emerged First Place as the Best Supportive Club at RYLA 2026, a distinction that underscores its investment in developing the next generation of ethical and service-oriented leaders.

“This investiture is not just about celebrating a new president, it is about renewing our commitment to Service Above Self and mobilising greater support for projects that will create lasting impact in our communities.

Rotarian Lasisi urged “individuals, organisations and friends of Rotary to join us in making this new chapter truly remarkable.”

Dr. Omowunmi Bakare is a distinguished public health physician, academic and humanitarian.

An Associate Professor at the Lagos State University College of Medicine and Consultant Public Health Physician, she has dedicated much of her professional and Rotary journey to improving lives.

Rotarian Dr Bakare Rotary journey began as a Rotaractor at the College of Medicine, University of Lagos.

About 15 years ago, she joined the Rotary Club of Omole-Golden and has served actively in initiatives including End Polio Now, Rotary Family Health Days, microfinance, mental health advocacy and other sustainable community projects.

With her wealth of professional experience, humanitarian passion and deep understanding of Rotary, expectations are high for an administration focused on compassion, impact, growth and transformational service.

The fundraising component of the ceremony will provide an opportunity for corporate organisations, philanthropists and development partners to support the club’s humanitarian agenda in healthcare, education, youth and women empowerment, environmental sustainability and community development.
