Operatives of the Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps (So-Safe Corps) have arrested four suspected robbers in Oke-Efon, Ogun State.

The robbers allegedly attacked the victim with a machete and left him injured along a bush path before community members and the So-Safe Corps rescued him.

The victim’s agonising cries reportedly attracted passersby, who raised the alarm and mobilised other residents to the scene.

Following a distress call from members of the Oke-Efon community, operatives of the So-Safe Corps arrested four suspected robbers in connection with the attack.

The suspects were identified as Muhammed Ibrahim, 35; Umukoro Godfrey, 24; Lawal Azeez, 29; and Ogunbiyi Junior, 20.

The incident occurred on August 28, 2026, at about 3:30 p.m., when members of the community alerted the Bode Olude Division of the Corps to an alleged armed robbery operation in the area.

The Commander of the Corps, Dr Soji Ganzallo, confirmed the arrests in a statement made available to journalists in Abeokuta by the Director of Information and Public Relations, ACC Adegunwa Adegbuyi.

According to Ganzallo, the Divisional Officer in charge of Bode Olude, CSC Ibrahim Tajudeen, immediately mobilised his men to the scene after receiving the distress call.

“On arrival, the team met a victim, whose name is withheld, who had been robbed and left with machete wounds along the bush path,” he said.

Ganzallo said the victim’s cries attracted the attention of passersby, who surrounded the area while waiting for security operatives to arrive.

He added that some community members, who had already been informed that So-Safe Corps personnel were on their way, remained at the scene and joined the operatives when they arrived.

The commander said the combined effort of the operatives and residents led to the arrest of the four suspects.

Items recovered from the suspects included a cutlass and N17,500 allegedly taken from the injured victim.

Ganzallo said the suspects and the recovered exhibits had been handed over to the Nigeria Police Force at the Adatan Divisional Headquarters for further investigation and possible prosecution.
