Aviation entrepreneur and political mobiliser Isaac Balami has joined the City Boy Movement as an executive board member and National Director on Special Duty ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Balami, who recently left the Obidient Movement, has been involved in mobilising support groups and political associates towards the All Progressives Congress (APC), amid indications of political realignment ahead of the elections.

His appointment letter was formally presented by the Director-General of the City Boy Movement, Hon. Francis Oluwatosin Shoga, and the National Secretary, Hon. Tosin Odufuwa, alongside other members of the executive board.

The appointment was also confirmed by Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The executive board is the highest decision-making body of the City Boy Movement and is responsible for providing strategic direction and overseeing the organisation’s activities.

Balami’s inclusion on the board has been described by supporters as significant, given his activities among youth political and support groups in different parts of the country.

His appointment is also expected by the movement to strengthen its mobilisation efforts for President Tinubu ahead of the 2027 election, particularly across the North and Middle Belt, where Balami is said to have developed networks of support groups and political associates.

Associates have also described Balami as the first Christian from Northern Nigeria to serve on the movement’s board, saying his inclusion could broaden the representation of different ethnic, religious and regional interests within the organisation.

The appointment comes amid increased political activity by Balami following his departure from the Obidient Movement.

In recent months, he has been associated with several support groups and political platforms involved in moves towards the APC as part of preparations for a broader political realignment.

The City Boy Movement has also appointed Ahmad Abdulaziz Yari, son of former Zamfara State Governor and Senator Abdul’aziz Yari, to its board. The elder Yari is the Director-General of President Tinubu’s 2027 Presidential Campaign Council.

The movement said the latest appointments would strengthen its political structure and broaden its reach among young Nigerians and political support groups ahead of the 2027 elections.

Balami, who has built a profile in Nigeria’s aviation sector, has in recent years combined his professional activities with youth mobilisation and political advocacy. He served as Deputy Campaign Manager of the Obi-Datti campaign organisation during the 2023 presidential election.

His latest appointment places him within the leadership structure of the City Boy Movement as it seeks to coordinate political mobilisation and expand its network across different regions ahead of the 2027 elections.
