Troops of Sector 2, Joint Task Force North West, Operation Fansan Yamma (JTF NW OPFY), have rescued three kidnapped victims following a distress call from local residents on terrorists’ activities along the Dandume-Sheme Road in Dandume Local Government Area of Katsina State.

This was stated in a statement issued by the Media Information Officer Joint Task Force North-west OPFY, Lt Colonel Aliyu Danja and made available to newsmen in Gusau, Zamfara State capital.

According to the statement, acting on the distress call, troops in collaboration with the personnel of the Nigeria Police swiftly mobilized to the scene and made contact with the terrorists, overwhelming them with superior firepower, saying that the terrorists fled in disarray into the surrounding bush abandoning their victims.

“Exploitation of the general area led to the rescue of three kidnapped victims along with two vehicles used by the terrorists. The rescued victims and recovered vehicles were subsequently handed over to the Divisional Police Officer, Dandume, while troops continue to dominate the general area with aggressive patrols to deny the terrorists freedom of action”

“The successful rescue operation demonstrates the resolve of troops of Operation Fansan Yamma to safeguard the lives and property of law-abiding citizens across the Joint Operations Area”
