Former Director-General of the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC), Dr. Danladi Bako, has been celebrated for his contributions to Nigeria’s broadcasting industry as he marks his 69th birthday.

The Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), in a congratulatory message signed by its Director-General and Chief Executive Officer, Salihu Abdulhamid Dembos, described Bako’s years in public service as significant to the development of broadcasting in Nigeria.

Dembos, on behalf of the management and staff of the NTA, extended warm congratulations and best wishes to Bako.

The NTA said Bako’s tenure at the broadcasting regulatory agency remained an important part of the history and development of Nigeria’s broadcasting industry.

It noted that through his leadership, experience and commitment to the profession, Bako contributed to the growth of an industry that plays an important role in information dissemination, education, national integration and democratic development.

“Your years of service, particularly your tenure as Director-General of the National Broadcasting Commission, remain an important part of the history and development of Nigeria’s broadcasting industry,” the NTA said.

The authority also acknowledged Bako’s career in public service, describing his journey as one marked by decades of dedication to his country and profession.

It said his national honour as an Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON) was a recognition of his service and contributions to the country.

The NTA said the birthday celebration was also an opportunity to appreciate what it described as the grace and blessings that had brought Bako to the milestone.

“As you celebrate your 69th birthday, we join your family, friends, colleagues and numerous well-wishers in thanking Almighty God for His grace and blessings upon your life and for bringing you to this significant milestone in good health and accomplishment,” it said.

The authority prayed for continued good health, peace, happiness and prosperity for the former NBC DG.

It also expressed the hope that Bako would continue to contribute his experience and knowledge to the broadcasting industry and the country.
