Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC)

The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) governorship candidate, Prof. Abdulmumeen Olayinka Ajia, has pledged functional education and healthcare systems that would deliver tangible improvements in the lives of residents if elected Kwara State governor in 2027.

Ajia promised improved living standards for Kwarans on Wednesday at the flag-off of his campaign in Ilorin, which lasted till 8:pm.

He said his campaign was driven by the desire to improve the wellbeing of the people with opportunities for ordinary citizens to excel through education.

According to him, “I will not be part of any arrangement capable of corrupting the system,” stressing that his ambition was not to take over government for personal enrichment.

“I will never be party to anything or anyone that will corrupt the system,” he maintained, adding that his prayer was to see the masses succeed in the society.

Ajia tasked the electorate to hold him accountable if he ever failed to perform, saying public office should be about service and responsibility rather than personal gain.

He assured that he would pursue and emulate the educational initiatives associated with the party’s vice-presidential candidate, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, which he said enabled children from disadvantaged backgrounds to attain greater heights.

Ajia said his campaign would not centre on mudslinging and name-callings, describing the PDP and APC as “beds of the same feather.”
