Hull City winger Sorba Thomas has escaped injury after his vehicle was involved in a road accident near the club’s training ground in Cottingham on Friday morning.

The 27-year-old Wales international’s car reportedly overturned on Millhouse Wood Lane, close to Hull’s training facilities, with images of the vehicle circulating on social media.

The incident sparked concern among supporters before the Premier League club confirmed that Thomas was unharmed.

In a statement on Friday, Hull City said, “We’re relieved to confirm that Sorba Thomas is unharmed.”

“The club is aware of images of Sorba’s car circulating on social media and can reassure supporters that he has sustained no injuries and emerged from his vehicle completely unscathed,” the statement added.

The club, however, did not provide further information on how the accident occurred.

Thomas joined Hull City from Stoke City on transfer deadline day and has featured twice for the club since completing the move.

He made his debut for the Tigers as a substitute during their 0-0 Premier League draw against Aston Villa last Saturday before starting Tuesday’s Carabao Cup clash against Sunderland.

The winger played the entire 90 minutes in the 1-0 defeat to Sunderland.

Hull City have made a strong start to their Premier League campaign, collecting seven points from their opening three matches without conceding a goal.

The Tigers defeated Manchester United 2-0 and Coventry City 1-0 before playing out a goalless draw with Aston Villa.

Hull are expected to travel to Stamford Bridge to face Chelsea on Saturday, with the match scheduled to kick off at 3pm.

It remains unclear whether Thomas will be available for the fixture following Friday morning’s accident.
