Nigeria Fintech Week 2026 to unite Africa’s fintech ecosystem

‎Nigeria’s fintech ecosystem is set to receive a major boost as industry leaders, financial institutions, technology companies, investors, policymakers and innovators converge for the ninth edition of the Nigeria Fintech Week (NFW26) from September 22 to 23, 2026.

The two-day event, organised by the Fintech Association of Nigeria (FintechNGR), will be held under the theme, “Legacy in Motion: Powering the Digital Renaissance,” with stakeholders expected to examine emerging technologies, partnerships and policy frameworks shaping the future of financial services and the wider digital economy.

Unlike previous editions, this year’s event will simultaneously take place in Lagos, Abuja and Port Harcourt, marking what the organisers described as the biggest expansion of the annual fintech gathering.

The Lagos programme will hold at the Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture and the Creative Arts, National Theatre, while parallel programmes will take place in Abuja and Port Harcourt over the same two days.

According to the organisers, the multi-city format is designed to widen participation and provide fintech stakeholders across different regions with access to discussions and opportunities emerging from Nigeria’s rapidly evolving digital economy.

NFW26 will feature keynote addresses, industry panels, expert sessions, product showcases and business engagements, with discussions expected to focus on digital payments, financial inclusion, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, digital banking, blockchain, regulation, investment and financial innovation.

The event is also expected to provide a platform for fintech companies and other participants to showcase new solutions, build strategic partnerships and explore investment opportunities within Nigeria’s technology-driven financial services sector.

FintechNGR said the event would bring together professionals, entrepreneurs, investors, students, regulators and other stakeholders interested in the future of finance and technology.

The association said the growth of Nigeria’s fintech industry in recent years had made collaboration among regulators, traditional financial institutions, technology companies, investors and startups increasingly important to the development of a sustainable digital financial ecosystem.

The ninth edition of Nigeria Fintech Week is therefore expected to provide an avenue for stakeholders to assess the progress made in the sector, examine emerging challenges and identify opportunities capable of accelerating digital transformation and financial inclusion.

Registration for the event is free, with interested participants able to register through the Nigeria Fintech Week website, nfw.fintechng.org.

FintechNGR is the umbrella body for Nigeria’s fintech industry, representing startups, financial institutions, investors and other stakeholders involved in innovation within the financial services sector.
