Obi Pays Tribute to Olu Jacobs

Presidential Candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress(NDC), Peter Obi, has paid tribute to veteran actor Olu Jacobs, describing his death as an irreplaceable loss to his family, the Nigerian creative industry and the country.

Obi expressed sadness following the announcement of Jacobs’ death by his family on Wednesday, September 16, 2026.
In a tribute via his X-Handle, Obi described Jacobs as an outstanding Nigerian who represented excellence through his contributions to the film and creative industry.

He said the late actor built a remarkable career spanning several decades in both Britain and Nigeria.

According to Obi, Jacobs’ life reflected the importance of talent, discipline, professionalism and dedication to one’s craft.

He said the actor’s death should also remind Nigerians that life is limited and that everyone should use their talents and responsibilities to make a positive contribution to society.

“Whatever responsibility we are entrusted with, and whatever area we are called to contribute to society, we must give it our very best,” Obi said.

The former governor extended his condolences to Jacobs’ family, friends, colleagues and members of the Nigerian creative community.
He prayed that God would give the bereaved family and the nation the strength to bear the loss.

Obi also prayed for the eternal rest of the late actor.
