Nollywood actress and filmmaker Toyin Abraham has spoken about losing a pregnancy while she was working on a movie set, revealing that she was nearly four months pregnant at the time.

Abraham shared the experience at the Bestie Jesu Concert 2026 in Lagos on Saturday, September 19, while speaking about some of the difficult moments she has faced and the people who supported her.

The actress said she was still filming when she lost the pregnancy. “I was four months pregnant, but I lost it. But guess what, I was filming, so I was down,” she said.

Abraham said she initially did not want to tell her parents about the loss. She was particularly worried about how her mother would take the news. She said she eventually informed her husband, actor Kolawole Ajeyemi, who was away at the time, before reaching out to Pastor Bolaji Idowu.

According to the actress, Idowu prayed for her and asked about her condition. She said she was on her way to the hospital for an evacuation procedure when the pastor sent her millions of naira to support her treatment and medical evacuation.

The actress had previously spoken about experiencing a pregnancy loss in 2022, saying at the time that she had cried over it because she wanted to have more children.

Her latest disclosure comes days after Abraham rejected reports linking her to the Lagos State All Progressives Congress (APC) Campaign Council ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Her name appeared in the Entertainment and Creative Economy Directorate of a campaign council list released by the Lagos APC on September 17. Other names on the list included actors Jide Kosoko, Eniola Badmus, Bimbo Akintola, Adebayo Salami, Saheed Balogun and Bukky Wright.

Abraham, however, said she did not agree to serve on the council and asked the public to disregard her reported inclusion. “I’m not a member of any campaign council. I have said it recently. I am staying out of politics. Please disregard the supposed inclusion of my name in any campaign committee,” she wrote on her Instagram Story.

She later responded to an X user who suggested that her decision may have been influenced by criticism online.
Abraham said that was not the case, explaining that she rejected the role because she had not been consulted before her name appeared on the list. “I did it because it was the right thing to do. I woke up and saw my name on a list I knew absolutely nothing about,” she said.

She added that she had already made her position clear about staying out of politics. Despite her statement, her name remained on the published campaign council document, where she was listed under the Entertainment and Creative Economy Directorate.
