Social media personality GehGeh has called out comedian Real Warri Pikin over her response to the backlash that followed her appearance on stage with singer Timaya.

The issue started after a video from the 2026 African Muzik Magazine Awards (AFRIMMA) in Dallas, United States, showed Real Warri Pikin joining Timaya on stage during his performance of Ukwu. Timaya was later seen lifting the comedian as he performed.

The video quickly spread online, with some people questioning the comedian’s decision to take part in the moment, particularly because she is married. Real Warri Pikin, whose real name is Anita Asuoha, later apologised to her husband, Ikechukwu, and those who were offended by what happened.

She explained that she had been backstage watching Timaya perform when he asked for a woman to join him on stage. According to her, she went up without knowing that he planned to lift her. She said she initially refused but eventually agreed after Timaya told her not to spoil his performance. She also said her husband was upset about what happened.

The comedian later made another video addressing the people who continued to criticise her after the apology. In the video, she stood by her actions and said she had done it “with my full chest”. She also said she was an entertainer and described the stage as her “shrine”. It was this second video that drew GehGeh’s attention.

GehGeh criticised Real Warri Pikin over the way she responded to the backlash, describing the incident as a “direct attack on your husband’s ego”. He also questioned why she would return to the matter after already apologising. The reaction has brought the controversy back into discussion, with attention now split between the original stage moment and Real Warri Pikin’s response to those criticising her.

The comedian has also pushed back against suggestions that the incident should affect her marriage. The controversy came shortly after she won the Best Stand-Up Comedian award at AFRIMMA.

Timaya has not been reported to have made a detailed response to the backlash surrounding the performance. For now, the discussion remains largely online, with Real Warri Pikin’s stage appearance, her marriage and GehGeh’s reaction continuing to draw comments.
