…Urges residents to shun voter apathy

The Governorship Candidate of Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) in Ogun State, Dr. Bolaji Odusina has urged residents not to vote for what she described as another round of hunger and economic hardship in the 2027 elections.

Odusina also called on the people of the state to embrace the NDC and reject the political parties, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC) which, she said, had contributed to the country’s current economic situation from 1999 to date.

Spoke in company of her running mate, Hon. Adeyemi Adesina yesterday after both of them had received the party’s flags from the party’s chairman, Hon. Femi Alao at the flag-off of the party’s governorship campaign rally held at Alake Palace, Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.

The United States (US) based Medical doctor said that both the APC and PDP had failed to meet the yearnings and aspirations of Nigerians including people of Ogun State, urging them to shun voter apathy and vote for NDC candidates contesting various political seats in the 2027 elections.

She stressed that her wealth of experience in various businesses abroad would be used to bring meaningful change to the state, adding that her 12-point agenda was designed to drive unprecedented development and surpass the achievements recorded by previous administrations over the state’s 50-year history.

The agenda includes: quality education, accessable healthcare, clean water, upgraded hospitals, insurance, job creation, modern infrastructure, agricultural revolution, security, transparent governance, improved power supply, and durable road network.

The gubernatorial candidate said that the agenda’s objective was to alleviate the suffering and hardships experienced by the people of the state, noting also that she would draw on her knowledge of the United States’ governance system to implement people-centred projects aimed at advancing the state to international standards.

“I know I can take hunger and hardship from the people of Ogun State I am capable to cause that change because I know with all my success, history I know I can cause that change because I am a self made woman and every businesses I have I built it from the scratch.” she added.

The gubernatorial candidate urged voters to look beyond party affiliations and gender discrimination, and focus on electing leaders with the capacity to improve their living conditions and bring in developmental projects capable of transforming Ogun into better state.
