Fast-rising afrobeats act, songwriter, and performer Shalom Terem, known by the stage name Shamzydane, has hit the airwaves with a new single titled, Alone, a record that puts the listener in a solemn type of vibe.

The new release, which dropped in August 20 across various streaming platforms including Spotify, YouTube Music, Apple Music, Audiomack, Boomplay and iTunes, is hinged on the artiste’s lifestyle, experiences and general feelings.

“Alone puts someone in a solemn type of vibe. A listener goes into meditation because of the deep lyrics. It is all about my lifestyle, my experiences and my general feelings,” Shamzydane said.

“It is basically talking about my phase of life, the pressure coming as a result of what is happening to me in my current state. It is all about my being. It is trying to figure out myself as I move forward and explaining that I am trying to do my best and move ahead,” he added.

Shamzydane started his music career professionally in 2019 with a feature by Tomi Tribe, a US-based artiste on the track Loba Tan, a vibrant afrobeat and party song. With hit singles like For Free, Link Me Up and the newly released Alone, he continues to evolve his craft, taking his music to the next level while gaining ground as one of the emerging superstars in the Nigerian music industry.

His electrifying and energetic approach to his music has been so intentional, leaving his fans and lovers of good music so captivated. “I started music in church and school as well. Both shaped me so well, inspiring me to embark on this musical journey I am on right now,” the budding act enthused.

According to the 22-year-old, he grew up listening to a lot of artiste and their sounds. “It taught me so many things I need to know and how I could have my own sound and pattern, which my audience can feel and understand,” he said.
‎
Inspired by global music heavyweights including Wizkid, Burna Boy, Davido and Drake, the young artiste says he envisages a society that is united, progressive and ready to grow and be there for its people.

Shamzydane has a scholarly background, having studied at the stone-famed Immaculate Conception Minor Seminary, Mfamosing, Cross River State, and the University of Calabar, where he bagged a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management in 2025.
