The Oluyole Warriors and Masu Gida came into the tie looking to end their recent respective winless run in the league.
Shooting Stars haven’t won a match in three, with two losses and a draw, while the visitors were on a run of three consecutive draws.
Unlike the last meeting between both sides that saw the Oluyole Warriors beat their guests in a 4-0 triumph, Tuesday’s action was an anticlimax to the dismay of the home fans, especially those who did not hide their frustrations.
It was a game of few clear-cut chances, but the biggest came in the ninth minute when Friday Ubong’s header was cleared off the line.
The match ended in a stalemate as both sides shared a point each after 90 minutes.
Kano Pillars picked up a point in Ibadan for the first time in nine years, as the Masu Gida extended their unbeaten run to seven games.
However, for Shooting Stars, the result adds to the growing frustration with the poor run of results in the last few weeks.
Following the barren draw, a section of the home fans camped outside of tge stadium calling for the sack of the technical adviser Salisu Yusuf.
According to a
video on X, some home fans verbally abused the Sporting Director of the club, Adepoju Tobi Samuel, as they chanted “ole!”, “ole!,” which means “thief” in English, as he made his way out of the stadium after the match.
Shooting Stars have now gone four matches without a win and are 13th on the NPFL log with eight points from seven matches, while Kano Pillars are sixth with 11 points after the same number of matches.
