The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Taraba State, has announced the display of the National Register of Voters and simultaneous collection of Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) across the state’s 168 Registration Areas.
The commission made the announcement on Thursday in Jalingo, while reaffirming its commitment to promoting transparent, credible and inclusive electoral processes.
In a statement signed by Ngunan Rachael Iyongo, Head of Voter Education and Publicity, on behalf of the Resident Electoral Commissioner, INEC said the exercise would commence on Friday, October 9, and run until Friday, October 16, 2026.
The commission said the National Register of Voters would be displayed across all 168 wards in the state, while PVC collection would take place simultaneously during the exercise.
According to INEC, voters who registered, transferred their registration or requested replacement of lost PVCs between August and December 2025 under Phase One would be able to verify their details and collect their cards.
The commission, however, said other PVCs would be made available for collection once they were received by the Taraba State office from its headquarters in Abuja.
INEC urged registered voters to visit their designated Registration Areas to verify their names and other details on the voters’ register and confirm their registration status.
It also encouraged voters to use the opportunity to raise claims or objections where necessary.
The commission said the exercise would be conducted daily from 9am to 3pm throughout the stipulated period.
INEC explained that while the display of the voters’ register would end on October 16, PVC collection would thereafter revert to the commission’s Local Government Area offices.
The electoral body called on eligible citizens, community leaders, political parties and civil society organisations to take advantage of the exercise by verifying their details and collecting their PVCs.
INEC said the exercise was important to ensure that eligible citizens were properly captured in the electoral register and able to participate in forthcoming elections.
The commission further appealed to residents and stakeholders across Taraba State to cooperate with its officials to ensure a smooth and successful exercise.
