The Grand Patron of the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement, High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, and the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Oyo State, Senator Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli, have called on residents of the state to support President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid and the party’s candidates ahead of the 2027 general election.
As part of efforts to strengthen grassroots mobilisation, Tompolo donated 32 vehicles to the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement in Oyo State.
The donation was announced on Thursday at the inauguration of the movement’s Oyo State structure at Liberty Stadium, Ibadan.
Tompolo, who spoke through his representative and Managing Director of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited, Chief Kestin Pondi, said the vehicles were provided to support the campaign for Tinubu’s re-election and the election of other APC candidates.
He urged residents to support the President for a second term, describing him as a son of the South-West who should be allowed to complete the region’s turn at the presidency.
“We are here today to tell you that we are coming to join you to canvas for votes across the country for your son, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” he said.
Tompolo, through Pondi, commended Tinubu’s reforms in critical sectors, arguing that they had increased the resources available to state governments to pay salaries and pensions and execute development projects.
He urged members of the movement to take the re-election campaign to communities across Oyo State, saying another term would enable the President to consolidate on his policies.
Also speaking, Alli thanked Tompolo for the donation and his support for Tinubu, assuring that the Oyo APC would deploy the vehicles judiciously for grassroots mobilisation.
“We are very grateful. I want to assure you that we are going to make judicious use of all these vehicles and all other items that you may want to give us, or from any other support group,” he said.
Alli said the APC was working to regain control of Oyo State, arguing that the state had remained outside the party’s control for too long.
“As far as we are concerned in Oyo, we have stayed out of government for too long and we are sincerely working assiduously to ensure that we take over the mantle of leadership in Oyo State,” he added.
Earlier, the National Coordinator of the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement, Mr Sunday Asuku, urged residents, particularly young people, to support Tinubu’s re-election bid.
Asuku described the President’s reforms as necessary for economic growth and sustained development, citing the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) as an example of a policy he said had made a positive impact.
He urged members of the movement to intensify grassroots mobilisation across the state ahead of the election.
Asuku also called on voters to support Alli’s governorship ambition, saying the movement was seeking support for both Tinubu at the national level and the APC candidate in Oyo State.
