The Governor of Ekiti State, Mr Biodun Oyebanji and his deputy, Mrs Monisade Afuye have been sworn in for second term in office by the Chief Judge of the state, Justice Lekan Ogunmoye.

Oyebanji’s Deputy, Afuye took the oath of office at 1.25pm, while Oyebanji took the oath of office at about 1.35pm. the governor inspected the parade of honours at 1.45pm.

Recall that Oyebanji is the first to be sworn in for a second term back to back since the creation of Ekiti 30 years ago.

Dignitary present at the ceremony included the Vice President, Kashim Shettima, Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, Deputy Senate President, Barau Jubrin, Chairman Progressive Governors Forum, Hope Uzodima, Chairman of Nigeria Governors Forum, Abdulrasaq Abdulrahman, former Governor of Osun State, Chief Bisi Akande, former Ogun State Governor, Segun Osoba.

Others included former Ondo State Governor, Segun Mimiko, Governor of Anambra, Charles Soludo, Governor of Niger, Governor of Lagos, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Minister of Mines and Steel Development, Dele Alake, Senators and Members of the House of Representatives, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Chairman and Members of the Ekiti State Traditional Rulers, among others
