Adamawa State Police Command

The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested seven suspects during a raid on identified drug joints, criminal hideouts and black spots in Kala’a, recovering substances suspected to be Indian hemp, crystal methamphetamine and Tramadol.

The operation, conducted on Sunday, October 18, 2026, was led by the Divisional Police Officer of Kala’a Division as part of efforts to curb drug abuse, trafficking and other criminal activities in the area.

The raid highlights the continuing security concerns surrounding the distribution and use of illicit drugs and the efforts of law enforcement agencies to disrupt activities suspected of contributing to criminality in local communities.

In a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, the command said the operation targeted locations identified as centres of illicit drug activities, criminal hideouts and black spots.

Drug abuse and trafficking remain concerns for security agencies because of their potential links to public health challenges, social instability and other criminal activities. However, the circumstances surrounding the Kala’a arrests will become clearer as investigations progress.

The Commissioner of Police in Adamawa State, Kabir Umar Hassan, reaffirmed the command’s commitment to combating drug abuse, trafficking and other criminal activities across the state.

He also called on residents to provide credible information that could assist security agencies in identifying suspected criminal hideouts and apprehending individuals involved in unlawful activities.

The command urged members of the public to cooperate with the police and other security agencies, stressing the importance of community participation in maintaining public safety.

The police said the suspects would face prosecution following the conclusion of investigations.

As the investigation continues, further details about the suspects and the circumstances surrounding the recovery of the suspected illicit substances are expected to emerge.
