The Bauchi State governorship candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Barr. Kashim Ibrahim has withdrawn from the race with speculations in the state that the politician might align with the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Kashim, a former Secretary to the State Government under the incumbent Governor Bala Mohammed, resigned to pursue his ambition. He had earlier joined SDP, later moved to NDC where he got the party ticket to contest the seat.

In his resignation letter addressed to the Party Chairman in Bauchi Local Government, he said: “I hereby formally tender my resignation from the National Democratic Congress (NDC), effective from the date of this letter.

“This decision has been taken after careful consideration and is a matter of personal choice. I wish to express my appreciation to the party leadership and members for the opportunity to have been associated with the NDC.

“I respectfully request that my resignation be acknowledged and that the necessary records be updated accordingly. Please accept the assurances of my highest regards,” he said.
