Bauchi APM suspends chairman as Matawalle gifts cars to returning APC lawmakers

Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle

Crisis is brewing in the Bauchi State chapter of the ruling Allied People’s Movement (APM) following the party’s removal of the state chairman, Auwal Isah, and installation of Nasiru Marafa in an interim capacity.

Leading other party executives, the state APM Secretary, Mohammed Yahaya, told a news conference yesterday that Isah’s removal followed a loss of confidence in his leadership due to actions allegedly inconsistent with the party’s constitution.

Yahaya listed the other reasons to include a “lack of financial accountability, absence of proper meeting records, operating without an official party bank account, and unconstitutional handling of party affairs.”

Meanwhile, the Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, has provided vehicles for the eight Zamfara State House of Assembly lawmakers who recently returned to the All Progressives Congress (APC) after a political disagreement.

Presenting the vehicles, the Managing Director of the Nigeria Agricultural Insurance Corporation (NAIC), Yazid Danfulani, said it was part of Matawalle’s efforts to promote unity, cohesion and political understanding among APC stakeholders in the state.

The vehicles, reportedly a part of President Bola Tinubu’s efforts to encourage their return to strengthen party unity, are intended to ease their transportation challenges and support their political engagements and mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections.
