The Emir of Daura, Umar Faruq, has backed President Bola Tinubu for re-election in 2027, saying that he is not an enemy of the North and has demonstrated unwavering commitment to developing the region.

He listed the projects to include the completion of critical capital projects that were initiated by the late President Muhammadu Buhari.

The monarch, who spoke in Kano yesterday during the commissioning of the third section of the N252.89 billion, 118-kilometre Abuja-Kaduna-Zaria federal highway, described Tinubu as an epitome of a true Nigerian who wants the progress of the country.

Consequently, the emir urged northerners to ignore those discrediting the president, insisting that he has shown enough compassion to the region to deserve support.

Also speaking at the ceremony, the Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Downstream Petroleum, Ado Doguwa, called for an open show of support for the president’s second-term ambition, saying that the north would support Tinubu’s re-election bid.
