Yoruba Leaders of Thought (YLT) has described the death of late Afenifere leader, Reuben Fasoranti, as an irreparable loss to the race and the nation at large, saying that he left when his wise counsel was needed to move the nation forward.
In a statement by the National Secretary, Mr Bayo Aina, the group noted his selfless service to the political development of the country, particularly Ondo State, saying he would be missed as a moral compass for a better future of the Yoruba nation.
The YLT also praised Fasoranti for not betraying the cause of the Yoruba race by placing common interest above personal interest.
Also, the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) has mourned the Afenifere leader, describing his life as a remarkable record of service to Nigeria and his community.
It described him as a nationalist, politician and community leader who devoted much of his life to progressive politics, good governance and the pursuit of a better Nigeria, saying he remained committed to these ideals throughout his life.
Despite the country’s missed opportunities for greater national development.
According to the ACF, his emergence as the National Leader of Afenifere reflected the respect he commanded among his people and his standing as a principled and far-sighted leader.
Meanwhile, YLT also mourned the gospel artist, Bolaji Olayemi, also known as Toluwasings, saying it was disgusting to hear that he was rejected by some hospitals, including the University Teaching Hospital (UCH), where he was taken for medical attention when he slumped in his house.
While consoling the family and admirers of the young minstrel, it said the time has come for the medical profession to have a second look at their profession and ensure that strike action does not translate to a total closure of access to all medical services, including emergencies.
