The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Community Engagement, South-South, Hon. Gift Johnbull, has vowed to mobilise massive votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu across the region in the 2027 general election.
She said the target would be pursued through grassroots mobilisation structures established across the six states of the South-South geopolitical zone.
Johnbull disclosed this in Abuja, during a press briefing, saying that the region was targeting more than three million votes for Tinubu’s re-election bid.
According to her, the structures cover 18 senatorial districts and more than 2,000 villages and communities, with women and youths expected to play key roles in the mobilisation exercise.
She said the South-South has more than 15 million registered voters, describing the figure as a significant electoral base for the President’s re-election bid.
Johnbull said: “We are going to confidently give the President over three million votes. Women and youths will come out massively, the region is fully behind the President.
She alongside stakeholders from the region, declared support for Tinubu’s second-term ambition, attributing their position to what she described as the Federal Government’s investments in infrastructure, education, electricity, healthcare and other development programmes across the zone.
She said projects being executed under the Tinubu administration had strengthened the region’s connection to the national development agenda, citing the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, Benin Bypass, East-West Road and other road interventions.
According to her, the projects would improve transportation, facilitate trade and unlock the economic potential of the South-South, particularly in tourism, oil and gas, agriculture and the blue economy.
Johnbull added that the intervention had supported healthcare facilities and created more than 7,000 direct jobs for youths and women.
He added, “Mr President, we have seen your work in our creeks, on our roads, in our schools and in our homes.”
She expressed appreciation to Tinubu for what she described as his administration’s attention to the region, urging sons and daughters of the South-South, both at home and abroad, to support the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
