Troops crack down on terrorist network in Borno, arrest 11 suspects

Borno State map

Nigerian troops have stepped up efforts to dismantle terrorist networks in Borno State, neutralising six suspected terrorists and arresting 11 suspected collaborators in ongoing security operations.

The operations form part of the military’s broader campaign to weaken insurgent groups and disrupt the networks that support their activities across the North-East.

The arrest of the 11 suspects is expected to aid efforts to investigate alleged links to terrorist activities and identify possible support structures sustaining the insurgency.

Borno remains a major focus of Nigeria’s counter-insurgency campaign, with security forces continuing operations against armed groups responsible for years of violence and displacement in the region.

The latest operation underscores the military’s focus on targeting both suspected fighters and individuals believed to be assisting them.

However, the suspects’ arrests do not establish their guilt, and any allegations against them must be investigated through the appropriate legal process.
