Hon. Adedeji Dhikrullahi Olajide Odidiomo, the member representing Ibadan North-West/Ibadan South-West Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives and Allied Peoples’ Movement (APM) candidate for Oyo South Senatorial District in the 2027 elections, has urged party leaders and stakeholders in Ibarapaland to intensify grassroots mobilisation ahead of the polls.
Olajide gave the charge at a strategic harmonisation meeting with party leaders, community mobilisers and grassroots structures across Ibarapaland, where he called for door-to-door campaigns to engage voters in their homes, markets and farm settlements.
The two-term lawmaker said every party member, from ward executives to grassroots canvassers, had a role to play in the party’s electoral campaign, stressing that political success depended on sustained engagement with voters.
He urged members to promote the APM‘s vision, achievements and legislative agenda, adding that effective representation and equitable distribution of democratic dividends across the nine local government areas in Oyo South Senatorial District required a stronger presence in the National Assembly.
Outlining his development priorities for Ibarapaland, Olajide pledged to work towards bridging the longstanding infrastructure and development gap between urban Ibadan and the agrarian communities of Ibarapa if elected senator.
He said his agenda would include pursuing direct federal funding for information and communication technology innovation hubs, agricultural value-chain development, youth skills acquisition programmes, rural access roads and improved regional security.
The federal lawmaker also called on aggrieved party members to set aside their differences, embrace reconciliation and work together to strengthen the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.
At the meeting, APM executives, ward leaders and community stakeholders passed a vote of confidence in Olajide’s senatorial ambition and pledged to support his candidacy.
The stakeholders also promised to establish canvasser committees in their respective wards and coordinate door-to-door mobilisation to promote the party’s campaign across Ibarapaland.
