INDUSTRY stakeholders will converge in Lagos on November 4, 2026 for HAULMACE 2026 to explore how technology adoption and stronger collaboration can reduce operational inefficiencies, lower costs and improve profitability in Nigeria’s haulage and logistics sector.
The conference and exhibition, organised by Haulage & Logistics Magazine, will hold in Lagos with free attendance for industry stakeholders.
The event, themed: ‘Technology as an Enabler for More Efficient Haulage Operations: The Need for Industry Collaboration,’ is expected to bring together haulage operators, fleet owners, manufacturers, logistics companies, technology providers, financial institutions and regulators to examine solutions to challenges affecting the movement of goods across the country.
Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Lori Systems, Jean-Claude Homawoo, would deliver the keynote address, focusing attention on the role of logistics technology in improving transport efficiency.
The programme would also feature a panel discussion involving the CEO Dukeridges, Anuoluwapo Agboola; CEO of Tripple A Logistics, Omotunde Ogunbowale and the Managing Director of Trucksoft Logistics – Telematics Services, Oluwafemi Oladokun.
The discussions are expected to examine how digital platforms, improved fleet management and partnerships across the supply chain can address persistent challenges in haulage operations.
Speaking ahead of the event, Convener of HAULMACE, Alfred Okugbeni, said the sector needed to embrace technology and deepen collaboration among stakeholders to improve operational performance and business sustainability.
He identified empty return trips, rising operating costs, underutilisation of trucks and poor coordination between cargo owners and transport operators as major challenges affecting the profitability of haulage businesses.
According to him, trucks that return without cargo after completing deliveries generate no additional revenue for the journey while still incurring expenses on fuel, maintenance and other operating requirements.
Okugbeni said digital freight-matching platforms could help connect operators with cargo owners who require transportation services, enabling trucks to secure return loads, improve asset utilisation, and reduce unproductive journeys.
He added that data sharing, improved fleet management systems and stronger coordination among manufacturers, cargo owners, logistics providers and technology companies could enhance the efficiency of goods movement and reduce pressure on operating margins.
The convener said HAULMACE 2026 would provide a platform for stakeholders to examine practical approaches to deploying these solutions, exchange industry experiences, and explore partnerships that can strengthen the logistics value chain.
The exhibition component would enable participating organisations to showcase their products and services, while conference sessions would focus on emerging technologies and strategies to improve haulage and supply chain management.
Participants are also expected to explore business opportunities, establish partnerships and share insights into innovations that could support the growth and competitiveness of Nigeria’s transport and logistics industry.
