…APC-PCC DG vows to convince Nigerians to renew president’s mandate

The Director-General of the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council (APC-PCC), Senator Abdulaziz Yari, has expressed confidence that President Bola Tinubu’s faith in God and his administration’s performance will help secure his re-election in 2027.

Yari, a former governor of Zamfara State, reaffirmed the commitment of the APC-PCC to winning the support of Nigerians for Tinubu’s second-term ambition, saying the president’s records and the campaign organisation’s mobilisation efforts would convince voters to renew his mandate.

He spoke with journalists in Mecca, Saudi Arabia, where he joined Tinubu and other prominent Nigerians to perform the lesser Hajj (Umrah).

Yari’s remarks followed the President’s declaration during a media chat in Saudi Arabia on Friday that he had enormous faith in God concerning his re-election.

Tinubu had said: “I believe that Allah’s wish in His court must prevail. And there’s no other God but Allah.

“Allah is the only one who can define a human being, what he will be, and what he will become.”

Reacting to the president’s comments, Yari described his reliance on God as an important attribute of leadership, noting that Tinubu had demonstrated faith in divine guidance by praying for Nigeria and its citizens.

He said the president’s confidence in God, combined with his administration’s achievements and the efforts of the APC campaign structures, would strengthen the party’s chances at the polls.

According to him, the APC-PCC would intensify efforts to engage Nigerians, explain the administration’s policies and achievements, and persuade voters to support President Tinubu for another term.

“That’s what makes a leader, because when you ask him, he first prayed for the country, prayed for every Nigerian. He also said this election is one in which God has selected the person who will be a leader, and only Him can put a leader in place or otherwise.

“So, in total, I depend on Allah to do it for him, as He did it for him in 2023.

“By that, Allah says we should welcome and work, and all the procedures we are undertaking to campaign, to talk to people, to convince them, and to show them what we have done and what we have achieved will, by God’s grace, convince people to elect us,” Yari said.

The APC-PCC director-general maintained that the campaign organisation was committed to taking the administration’s scorecard to Nigerians and securing their support for Tinubu’s second-term ambimandate.
