A fire has destroyed a prefabricated store at Hybrid Feed Factory, beside Top One Garden, Podo, Ibadan, with firefighters preventing the blaze from spreading to other buildings and facilities within the premises.
The Oyo State Fire Services Agency said it received a distress call at about 2.37pm on Monday, November 2, 2026, reporting the outbreak.
The agency’s firefighting crew, led by ACFS Oyeniyi, promptly mobilised to the scene and brought the fire under control.
According to the agency, the affected prefabricated building was being used as a store, while other structures and facilities within the factory were saved from the blaze.
A preliminary investigation suggested that the fire might have resulted from a spontaneous reaction involving some materials used in the factory.
The firefighters returned safely to their station at about 4.37 pm after successfully containing the incident, with the firefighting appliance placed on standby.
The Special Adviser on Fire Reform and Chairman of the Oyo State Fire Services Agency, Dr Moroof Akinwande, urged business owners across the state to prioritise fire safety to prevent similar incidents.
He emphasised the need for businesses to provide functional firefighting equipment within their facilities and remain vigilant against potential fire hazards.
