
Udie said a situation where prospective candidates would ask for exclusive Muslim votes or Christian votes would not happen before and during the election proper because the candidates are all out to test their acceptance and popularity among the electorate.
He spoke yesterday at the stakeholders’ interactive session at the Police Officers’ Mess in Jos, which was largely boycotted by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and the major opposition, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
He, however, added that their absence was not deliberate as the parties conventions were still ongoing.
He said that apart from securing the process, every other thing would be left to the politicians to make the game free and peaceful.
