The Head of Tourism and Creative Sector at Sterling and Convener of the Uncover Naija project, Abiola Adelana, has called for stronger collaboration between Nigeria’s aviation and tourism sectors to position the country as a leading global destination.

Adelana made the call following her engagement with the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo.

She stressed that aviation remained critical to connecting Nigeria with the global tourism market.

According to Adelana, efficient air connectivity, accessible airports and safe travel, combined with destination promotion, would enable more international visitors to discover Nigeria’s cities, cultures and tourism attractions.

She said initiatives such as Uncover Naija demonstrate how photography, film, art, music, fashion, food and digital storytelling could be used to project Nigeria’s landscapes, heritage, festivals and people to the world.

She declared that combining aviation, tourism, culture and the creative economy would attract visitors, support local businesses, create jobs, preserve cultural heritage and empower young Nigerians.

“Nigeria is not just a place to pass through. Nigeria is a destination to discover,” Adelana said, urging stakeholders to work together to build what she described as “Destination Nigeria” and present the country in its true colours to the world.
