The Abia State police command said it has commenced investigation into the death of the pastor of a new generation church called Winds of Glory, located at Ohokobe, a village near Umuahia, the state capital.

The decomposing body of the pastor, whose name was given as Blessing Kelechi and two others whose names were given as Pastor Ambassador Kalu Ikeagwu, an assistant pastor of the church and Ruth Andrew, the church’s women leader, were found in Kelechi’s residence at Umuobia Housing Estate in the outskirts of Umuahia

This was confirmed by the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the State CID, Patrick Edung, when he led a police team to evacuate the bodies of the trio for deposition in a mortuary.

According to him, the police became aware of the deaths when it was reported to it.

It was speculated by church members and relatives during the evacuation of the deceased to the mortuary that they were likely murdered last Sunday because the two pastors abstained from the penultimate Sunday’s service.

“It was on Friday evening when we visited Pastor Kelechi’s house that their dead bodies were seen,” the source said.
