NEPZA lauds LADOL’s human capacity development programme

CITING sustained economic growth, human capacity development, employment  for numerous Nigerians, the Managing Director of Nigeria Export Processing Zones Authority (NEPZA), Gbenga Kuye, has commended the management of Lagos Deep Offshore Logistics Base (LADOL) for its contributions to the nation’s economy.
 
Speaking at the end of his visit to LADOL’s maritime facility, Kuye said: “ I’m humbled by what I have seen.  LADOL is one of our top Free Zone.  This is world class design. LADOL has earned being called an Industrial park”.
 
Kuye also commended the implementation of local content policy, adding that the safety measures put in place is second to none.

According to Kuye, the number of Nigerians working at the fabrication yard and other segment of the facility is an indication that the company is out to create jobs and grow the nation’s economy.
 
He said: What they are doing here is not an easy task. Its not easy to raise money. They have the option of investing heavily in properties, sit at home and collect rent. But, that will not create jobs in any way. I want to say thank you to the company.
 
Briefing the NEPZA boss and his entourage, the Managing Director of LADOL, Dr Amy Jadesimi said the facility is designed to provide world-class solution in areas of deep off-shore support fabrication, maritime and gas projects.

She explained that the company has a vision of providing next growth opportunity that is aimed at changing the entire economic landscape, adding that the mission of LADOL is to emerged as an industrial hub.

Also speaking recently after inspecting LADOL’s facilities along Badagry channel, Lagos harbours, Managing Director of Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Habib Abdullahi pledged NPA’s support and collaboration in the areas of security, pilotage and safe channels among others.

He noted that if there are other companies in Nigeria that have contributed immensely to the nation’s economy like LADOL, Nigeria’s economy would have developed more than it has today.


Abdullahi said: “I am very impressed and very proud as a Nigerian that a company owned by a Nigerian is doing well”.
