The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Kano State has filed a petition against the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), accusing it of violating orders of the court, which instructed the commission to allow the opposition party have access to electoral materials.

In the petition filed before the Kano State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal sitting in the state, the party accused INEC and Resident Electoral Commissioner in Kano, Prof. Risqua Shehu Arabic, of committing contempt of court.The tribunal has fixed Wednesday, June 19, 2019 for hearing of the petitioner’s application.
