Zinchenko, Yarmolenko lead Ukraine’s squad against Super Eagles
Manchester City defender, Oleksandr Zinchenko and West Ham’s Andriy Yarmolenko are among the 24 players chosen by Ukraine Coach, Andriy Shevchenko for the international friendly match against Nigeria and European Championship qualifier against Lithuania next month.
Ukraine will face Lithuania in a European Championship qualifier on September 7 before meeting the Super Eagles on September 10 at the Dnipro Arena in Kyiv.
Four of the players named by Shevchenko are on standby.
The players named by the former AC Milan striker for the games are goalkeepers Andriy Pyatov (Shakhtar Donetsk), Denys Boyko (Dynamo Kyiv) and Andriy Lunin (Valladolid)
The defenders are Serhiy Kryvtso (Shakhtar Donetsk), Mykola Matviyenko (Shakhtar Donetsk), Serhiy Bolbat (Shakhtar Donetsk), Nikita Burda (Dyamo Kiev), Vitaliy Mykolenko (Dynamo Kiev), Oleksandr Karavaev (Dynamo Kyiv), Ihor Plastun(Gent) and Eduard Sobol (Bruges).
The midfielders are Yevhen Konoplyanka (Schalke, Germany), Andriy Yarmolenko (West Ham, England), Ruslan Malinowski (Atalanta, Italy), Oleksandr Zinchenko (Manchester City, England), Roman Bezus (Gent, Belgium), Maryan Shved (Celtic, Scotland), Viktor Tsyhankov, Vladimir Shepelev, Vitaliy Buyalskyi(all Dynamo Kyiv), Taras Stepanenko (Shakhtar Donetsk) and Marlos (Shakhtar Donetsk), while the forwards are Roman Yaremchuk (Gent, Belgium) and Junior Moraes (Shakhtar Donetsk).
Yevhen Shakhov, Sergey Sidorchuk, Nikolay Shaparenko and Artem Besedin are on standby.
