As part of the ongoing follow-up on the evacuation of Egyptian citizens from Sudan, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi held a meeting today with Prime Minister, Dr. Mostafa Madbouly; Minister of Defense and Military Production, General Mohamed Zaki; Director of the General Intelligence Service, Major General Abbas Kamel; Minister of Interior, Major General Mahmoud Tawfiq; and Minister of Transport, Lieutenant General Kamel Al-Wazir.

The Spokesman for the Presidency, Counselor Ahmed Fahmy, stated that during the meeting President El-Sisi was updated on the evacuation process of Egyptian citizens from Sudan and efforts to facilitate their unimpeded return to the homeland. The discussions also focused on the intensive efforts exerted by the state authorities to organize the arrivals in Egypt from Sudan, through the border crossings between the two countries, of Egyptian and Sudanese citizens, in addition to efforts to help the evacuation of nationals from a number of world countries.

The President gave directives to ensure the safe return of Egyptians from Sudan and to provide the necessary relief as well as medical and food services at the land crossings between Egypt and Sudan. This comes in light of the Egyptian government and people’s role in supporting the Sudanese people in the current crisis and Egypt’s vigorous efforts to push toward reaching a peaceful solution to the crisis, that shall restore Sudan’s security and stability.
