Africa Prudential appoints Onyejekwe as chair, announces Fadayomi’s retirement

Africa Prudential Plc, a share registration and business solutions provider, has appointed Christabel Onyejekwe as Chairperson, following the retirement of Chief (Mrs.) Eniola Fadayomi, MFR, after 12 years of service. The announcement was made during the company’s 12th Annual General Meeting.

Onyejekwe has over 30 years of experience in the financial services sector. She previously served as Executive Director, Business Development, at the Nigerian Inter-Bank Settlement Systems Plc (NIBSS), where she led strategic initiatives to enhance Nigeria’s financial infrastructure. She currently serves on several corporate boards, contributing expertise in governance, strategy, and risk management.

Fadayomi, the outgoing Chairperson, served on the Board of Africa Prudential Plc for 12 years, during which the company achieved milestones that strengthened its position as a technology-driven registrar business in Africa.

Commenting on the transition, Chief Fadayomi said: “It has been a privilege to serve this institution, witnessing its transformation into the registrar business it is today. I am confident that Mrs. Onyejekwe will bring renewed energy and perspective to the Board, and I have no doubt that Africa Prudential will continue to thrive under her leadership.”

Onyejekwe, the incoming Chairperson, added: “I am honoured to take on this role and build on the legacy established by my predecessors. I look forward to working closely with my colleagues on the board and management to drive the company’s strategic objectives.”

Non-Executive Directors Samuel Nwanze and Peter Elumelu are also retiring from the Board after 12 years of service.

As part of its succession strategy, the Board has appointed Vincent Ukoh as a Non-Executive Director, pending approval by the Securities and Exchange Commission. Ukoh is the Chief Executive Officer of HH Capital Limited, an investment firm with interests in financial services, energy, hospitality, and real estate.
Africa Prudential Plc continues to prioritise governance, business performance, and innovation to support long-term growth and corporate objectives.
