The First Lady of Nigeria, Aisha Buhari, Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha, the wife of Kwara State governor, Olufolake Abdulrazaq and her Taraba counterpart, Anna Mbasugun Darius Ishaku, have been honoured with the African peace award in Abuja.

The prestigious African peace award ceremony held in the nation’s capital was organised by a UK-based African peace magazine.

A retired Justice of the Supreme Court, Suleiman Galadima, who was also one of the awardees and the Board Chairman of the Magazine, in a welcome address called on the leaders of the continent to initiate and launch strategic plans that would bring the desired peace and development to the region.

According to the jurist, the purpose of the award was to honour persons and institutions that have in one way or the other contributed to the entrenchment of peace in the continent.

Galadima further called for the establishment of training programmes aimed at propagating progressive African values for the enhancement of peace in Nigeria and the continent.
