The Association of Licensed Private Security Practitioners of Nigeria (ALPSPN) has canvassed better and fair treatment of security guards by both the corporate and private organizations in the country.

The organization said it is important to take good care of security personnel because they are ambassadors of the companies, homes and other places they secure and the society at large.

Speaking during the association’s end of the year party in Lagos, the Chairman, Lagos chapter, Mr. Wilson Esangbedo harps on the fact that there are great benefits in fair treatment of security personnel.

According to him: “Security personnel are not only the ambassadors to our companies but also to the association. If they are well treated it would motivate them to be more productive and we will have lesser problems.”

Esagbedo added that if security personnel are well remunerated, “their morals to work would increase and their output will be good.”

In his remark, Lagos Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC), Mr. Tajudeen Ayobami Balogun said security challenge is a global issue all over the world.

“Every opportunity we have to deliberate on how to enhance and improve our security situation is definitely a welcome development everywhere”, he said.
