Banire, Okoye admitted to Julius Berger board

Julius Berger (JB) Nigeria Plc has announced the appointment of Dr Muiz Banire and Chinazo Okoye as members of the board of the organisation.

While Banire is appointed as a Non-Executive Director, Okoye is appointed as an Alternate Director of the company.

The appointments were approved at a meeting of the company’s Board of Directors held recently, and formally disclosed to the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX) and the investing public in a statement signed by the Company Secretary, Cecilia Ekanem Madueke.

Banire, whose appointment takes effect from July 1, 2026, is a distinguished legal practitioner, academic, and public servant with decades of experience across multiple sectors.

A Senior Advocate of Nigeria, he is also the Founder and Principal Partner of M. A. Banire & Associates.

He currently serves as Pro-Chancellor of the University of Uyo and is a member of the Board of Trustees of Fountain University, Osogbo.

Chinazo Okoye is a seasoned business professional with a strong background in engineering and finance.

She is currently the Managing Director of Amaranta Trading Limited and a Chartered Certified Accountant of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).

She brings extensive experience across corporate and financial roles to her new position.

Commenting on the appointments, the company stated that both individuals bring a wealth of expertise and experience that will enhance the Board’s capacity and contribute to the strategic direction and governance of Julius Berger Nigeria Plc.

According to a statement by the company, the appointments underscore its commitment to strengthening its leadership structure and advancing its long-term growth objective.
