‘Beauty industry pulling unemployed persons out of the labour market’

CEO of Beauty Secrets Medspa, Dr Deborah Omale

Amid the soaring unemployment rate in the country, the Chief Executive Officer of Beauty Secrets Medspa, Dr Deborah Omale, has said many people are being pulled out of the labour market by the beauty industry.

Omale, who recently drew the former first Lady of Kogi State, Hafiza Bello, Nollywood star, Monalisa Chinda; and other dignitaries to the grand opening of her MedSpa in Abuja, said the facility had been able to give a team of professionals more than a pay cheque.

She noted: “At a time when good jobs can be hard to come by, we’ve been able to build a team of incredible people from therapists to nurses, doctors and administrative staff and give them more than just a pay cheque. We invest in training, growth and personal development because we want our people to thrive.

“Watching someone grow in confidence and skill right here in our space is one of the most fulfilling parts of this journey. We’re not just building a business; we’re building people, and that is the beauty of it all.”

Describing the Spa as a place to heal, she added: “After spending years in the (beauty) industry, I realised that so many people were craving more than just a service; they needed a place to breathe, to heal and to be taken care of. So, I created Beauty Secrets Spa, a calm, welcoming space where people can pause, be pampered and walk out feeling brand new. It is more than a business; it’s my heart in action.”

On what makes her facility tick, she pointed at the ‘customised’ treatment her clients get each time they visit.

She explained: “It is the way we treat people. We do not see just your skin or your body, but you. Every treatment is customised, every detail intentional. From the warm greeting at the door to the soft music and calming scents, the space is all designed to make you feel at home.

“Our team isn’t just skilled; they genuinely care. That’s what makes all the difference. We’re not just offering services; we’re creating experiences that leave you feeling seen, loved and whole.”
