CIO award expands, recognises excellence in innovation

Organise of this year’s Chief Information Officers (CIO) Awards said it has expanded its reach beyond Nigeria to other African countries.

Convener of CIO Club Africa and CIO Awards Africa, Abiola Laseinde, said this year’s expansion into Ghana, Egypt, Senegal, Kenya, and South Africa marked a significant milestone in recognising and celebrating the incredible technology talent that spans the African continent.

She said the awards would honour outstanding individuals and organisations that have made remarkable contributions to the business world through the innovative use of technology.

Laseinde, who is also the Chief Executive Officer of Edniesal Consulting, said the event would spotlight Africa’s digital leaders.

According to her, “Awards will continue to recognise top technology leaders, including Chief Technology Officers (CTOs), Chief Information Officers (CIOs), Chief Information Security Officers (CISOs), Chief Digital Officers (CDOs), Heads of Information Technology (IT), and chief executive officers /chief operating officers with technology-focused roles, who have significantly impacted their organisations and industries through innovative technology strategies.”

Slated to hold in Lagos, she stressed that the gathering of the tech leaders, innovators and industry experts would undoubtedly drive the digital transformation of Africa.
