Firm seeks public, private sector partnership to provide affordable housing

Managing Director, CruxStone Develoment, Dr. Adetoro Bank-Omotoye has said housing deficit in Nigeria could only be reduced if private developers and government collaborate to provide affordable housing for the masses.

Bank-Omotoye said this when he was conferred with Doctor of Science in Property Management and Estate Development, by the European American University, Commonwealth of Dominica.

Speaking after the award, Bank-Omotoye said he believed in excellence and getting the best hands to do work with utmost sincerity.

To solve the problem of housing deficit he said the iconic towers is in collaboration with the Lagos State government for private developers to come on board, “as we know, the government can’t do all, but they need to ensure an enabling environment where developers can thrive, and that is what the Lagos State government is doing.

“There’s a whole lot the government is working on to ensure that accommodations is available and affordable to the masses, we just need to have more developers come on board and partner with the government.”

On the targeted number of housing units, he said: “We have two companies we are working with, CruxStone which is for the high earn luxury and not for mass production, we have GapStone which is the affordable housing units so, in GapStone, we are looking at producing not less than 10 thousand to 20, 000 housing units in the next 10 years. We are a quality driven organization, even if we are looking at affordable end of it, we still want to remain a firm known for quality.”

Speaking on the award, he said, “I am honored and feel appreciated, blessed to have achieved this: the challenges faced is nothing out of ordinary but a man must not look at the challenges but eyes on the goal irrespective of what comes his way. We’ve been able to pull through all because we have the right mindset and set out to do the right thing.

“We as a firm, we are not only building iconic towers, but to bring into being iconic features as organisation, which is CruxStone. We are set out to make a difference in the industry, set out to take real estate, particularly luxury to the next level,” he stated.
