A health insurance company, Hygeia HMO, has empowered the Makoko community in Lagos State using health kits. Head of Sales, Hygeia HMO, Dr. Babajide Oyeduntan, said the firm was on ground to empower and sensitise the community with malaria prevention kits like mosquito treated nets and educate them on preventive measures.

He said the firm’s business was hinged on providing affordable quality healthcare to Nigerians, including people at the grassroots level, as well as providing education on ways to stay ahead of medical emergencies.

He urged Nigerians to take up the various health insurance plans that are available in the country, to protect them from unexpected and high medical costs.

According to him, Nigerians can take advantage of cheap insurance covers, which the firm offers to stay ahead of medical emergencies.
He described malaria as the deadliest infection of the decade, noting that purchasing health insurance covers, as low as N5,000, can help people get quick medical treatments even against malaria.

Oyeduntan said: “We believe that with the right tools, malaria can be made a thing of the past in Nigeria and while we work towards this, we can, for now, use materials at our disposal to avoid mosquitoes and malaria.

“Additionally, to make quality healthcare even more accessible to Nigerians, Hygeia HMO has introduced the monthly payment option, starting as low as N5,000, with even better benefits and quality service.”
